Time is of the essence in the Chef Edition. Each meal comes with a visible timer. Complete the meal within the allotted time, and you'll be handsomely rewarded with a Chef's Special Prize. If you fail to do so, the reward for that meal will be lost, but don't worry; a new meal order will be activated immediately!

You can easily see how much time is left to complete the current meal by checking the tile in your game lobby. This tile will always show the time left for you to collect ingredients so that the Chef can complete the current meal.

You can also see the time in your Charms Arena. 
  

Pro Tip: Completing meals before the timer runs out ensures you have more time for the subsequent one, thus improving your chances of scooping up more exceptional prizes.
